파키스탄 칸 박사 핵 기술 이전 혐의 부인 (E)

파키스탄 핵 계획의 창시자인 압둘 카디르 칸 박사는 금지된 핵 기술을 판매했다고 자백한 지 4년 만에, 핵 기술을 넘겼다는 혐의를 부인했습니다.

칸 박사는 핵 비밀을 북한, 이란, 리비아와 공유했다고 인정한 지난 2004년 이후 가택연금 상태에 놓여 있습니다. 칸 박사는 미국의 소리 방송에, 그같은 혐의는 근거없는 것이라고 말했습니다.

칸 박사는 자신이 자백하도록 미국이 페르베즈 무샤라프 대통령에게 압력을 가했다고 말했습니다. 그러나, 칸 박사는 공개적인 자백에 대해서는 논의를 거부했습니다.

The founder of Pakistan's nuclear program has denied allegations he passed on nuclear secrets, four years after he confessed to selling banned nuclear technology.

Abdul Qadeer Khan told VOA (Urdu Service) the allegations against him are baseless. He said Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf was pressured by the United States to force him to confess.

However, Khan refused to discuss his public confessions. He also would not say if he was made a scapegoat to protect top Pakistani military officials who may have known about his nuclear dealings.

A defense analyst and professor in Islamabad, Ishtiaq Ahmed, says the nuclear proliferation evidence against Khan is substantial. Ahmed says Khan's primary role in the affair cannot be ruled out.

Khan has been under house arrest in Islamabad since 2004, when he admitted to sharing nuclear secrets with Iran, Libya and North Korea.
