'타밀 반군 호랑이 평화에 관심 보이지 않는다' - 스리랑카 외무장관 (E)

스리랑카의 팔리타 코호나 외무장관은 오늘 싱가포르에서 열리고 있는 아시아 안보회의에서 기자들에게 타밀 반군 호랑이는 영구적인 평화에 어떠한  관심도 보이지 않고 있다고 말했습니다.

한편 반군측 웹사이트인 타밀넷닷컴에서는 타밀 반군이 바부니야와 마나르 지역에서 금요일 벌어진 전투에서  적어도 28명의 정부군을 사살했다고 밝히고 있습니다.

웹사이트는 또 자신들이 지역 정부에 더 많은 권력을 주려는 스리랑카 정부의 계획에 반대했으며 스리랑카 정부가 평화 협상의 중재역할을 하려는 노르웨이 관리와 자신들의 만남을 막고 있다고 스리랑카 정부를 비난하는 내용의 대담을 실었습니다.

A top Sri Lankan official says Tamil Tiger rebels have not shown any signs they are interested in a permanent peace.

Foreign Secretary Palitha Kohona made the comment today (Saturday) to reporters at a regional security conference in Singapore.

Meanwhile, a pro-rebel web site (Tamilnet.com) says Tamil militants killed at least 28 government soldiers during fighting Friday in the northern Vavuniya and Mannar regions.

The web site also has an interview with the leader of the Tamil Tiger rebels' political wing (B.Nadesan).

He says the rebels have rejected a government plan to transfer more power to regional governments. He also accuses the Sri Lankan government of preventing the rebels from meeting with Norwegian officials, who are trying to broker a peace deal.
