한-일 재무장관 회의.. 경제협력 강화

 

                                                아소 다로 일본 재무상과(좌) 한국의 최경환 기획재정부 장관이(우) 23일 도쿄에서 회담을 가졌다

한국과 일본이 2년 6개월만에 재무장관 회의를 열고 경제와 금융 협력을 강화하기로 했습니다.

 한국의 최경환 기획재정부 장관과 아소 다로 일본 재무상은 23일 도쿄에서 제6차 한일 재무장관회의를 열었습니다.

 

박근혜 대통령 정부 출범 이후 부총리급 이상의 고위 각료가 일본을 방문하는 것은 이번이 처음입니다.

 

최 장관은 전날 만찬에서, 두 나라가 정치외교 관계의 경색에도 불구하고 정경분리 원칙에 따라 경제협력을 강화해야 한다고 강조했습니다. 또 두 나라 민간기업간 협력을 정부가 최대한 지원하자고 제안했습니다. 아소 재무상도 두 나라간 여러 분야에서 교류를 강화하자고 말했습니다.

일한 재무상회의, 2년 반 만에 개최

일한 양국의 재무당국자가 의견을 교환하는 ‘일한 재무상회의’가 23일, 일본 측의 아소 부수상 겸 재무상과 한국 측의 최경환 부총리가 참석한 가운데 2년 6개월 만에 열렸습니다.

‘일한 재무상회의’는 지난 2006년에 시작된 정례회의지만, 일한 관계가 냉각되면서 개최가 미뤄져 왔습니다.

회의에서 아소 부수상은, 중국이 주도하는 AIIB, 아시아인프라투자은행 참가에 신중한 일본의 입장을 설명하는 한편, 일본은 향후 5년간 아시아지역에 총 13조엔 규모의 투자를 실시한다는 구상을 소개했습니다.

아소 부수상은 아울러 아시아의 방대한 인프라 수요에 부응하기 위해서는 일한 양국이 연대를 강화해 노력해 갈 필요가 있다는 데 인식을 함께 했습니다.

회의를 마친 아소 부수상은 “폭넓은 분야에 대한 이러한 경제교류를 대국적인 관점에서 가질 수 있다는 것이 중요하다는 데 의견이 일치했다”고 말했습니다.

한편 최경환 부총리는, “양국의 관계는 여러 가지 문제를 안고 있지만, 정경분리의 원칙에 따라 정치분야는 정치분야에서 해결하고, 경제분야는 경제분야대로 풀어가는 계기가 되길 기대한다”고 말했습니다.

일한 양국은 내년 한국에서 차기 재무상회의를 개최할 예정입니다.

[Japan, S.Korea finance ministers hold talks

Japanese Finance Minister Taro Aso and South Korea's Minister of Strategy and Finance Choi Kyoung-hwan have agreed to work together to meet the enormous demand for infrastructure in Asia.

The 2 met in Tokyo on Saturday for the first bilateral financial dialogue held in 2 and half years. Regular finance ministerial talks started 9 years ago, but had not been held since relations between Japan and South Korea began to deteriorate.

Aso explained Japan's cautious stance against joining the China-led Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, or AIIB. He also spoke about Japan's plan to invest a total of 13.3 trillion yen, or about 110 billion dollars, in Asia over the next 5 years.

The 2 ministers agreed that their countries need to strengthen cooperation in order to help develop infrastructure in Asia, where demand is soaring.

After the meeting, Aso said they had agreed on the importance of holding this kind of economic exchanges, from a broader viewpoint, and covering a wide range of areas.

Choi said that although there are various issues between the 2 countries, he wants to create opportunities to deal with economic issues separately from political ones, under the principle of separation of politics and economy.

The next round of financial dialogue will take place in South Korea next year.]
