Chinese President Hu Jintao met with Mongolian President Nambaryn Enkhbayar in Sanya of south China's Hainan province on Friday, calling on joint efforts to further deepen political trust and boost bilateral cooperation.

Hailing the sound growth of bilateral ties, Hu said China had always attached great importance to developing relations with Mongolia, and was willing to work with the country to increase bilateral cooperation so as to benefit the two peoples.

He proposed to maintain the momentum of high-level exchanges, enhance cooperation among various departments at all levels, and make efforts to successfully hold activities commemorating the 60th anniversary of China-Mongolia diplomatic ties next year.

Hu also called on both sides to cement exchanges and cooperation in the areas of tourism, environmental protection, disaster prevention and youth exchange, and jointly promote the early signing of bilateral agreements on expanding trade cooperation.

China was ready to enhance coordination with Mongolia on major international issues, including regional cooperation and climate change, he added.

Enkhbayar said Mongolia was firmly committed to developing stable good-neighborly, equal footing and mutually beneficial ties with China, calling on both sides to take the opportunity of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties, as well as the 15th anniversary of China-Mongolia Treaty on Friendly Cooperative Relations next year to further expand cooperation.

He said Mongolia hopes to work closely with China to fulfill large-scale cooperative programs of infrastructure construction, transport, energy and resources, and expand cultural, tourism, youth and local-government exchanges.

Enkhbayar reiterated Mongolia's adherence to the one-China policy. He extended congratulations to the country's great achievements in national construction since its reform and opening-up.

With regard to the upcoming Beijing Olympic Games, Enkhbayar said he was glad to attend its opening ceremony, expecting its full success. Hu expressed welcome and gratitude for that.

Enkhbayar arrived in China's southern most city of Sanya on Friday. He was here to attend the annual meeting of the Boao Forum for Asia opening on Saturday afternoon.
