카메룬 구조대원들 추락한 케냐 항공기 수색 (Eng)

카메룬 관계자들은 한국인 한 명 등 114명을 태우고 비행중 남부 카메룬에서 추락한 케냐 항공사의737-800기 수색작업을 벌이고 있습니다.

관계자들은 이날 승객 105명과 승무원 9명 등 모두 114명을 태우고 두알라 공항을 이륙해 케냐 나이로비공항으로 향하던 케냐항공 소속 737-800기가 니이테 부근에서 추락했다고 말했습니다. 이 추락사고로 사상자가 발생했는지는 아직 확인되지 않고 있습니다.

항공사측은 이 항공기에 여러 명의 유럽인, 아시아인과 미국인 한 명이 탑승하고 있었다고 밝혔습니다.

한편, 한국의 외교통상부는 추락한 이 여객기에 부르키나 파소에 거주하는 한국인 남학생 김모 씨가 탑승한 것으로 확인됐다고 밝히고, 현재 주케냐 대사관과 주 코트디부아르 대사관이 김씨의 사망여부 및 추가 한국인 탑승객 유무 등을 확인중이라고 말했습니다.

Cameroon officials are searching for a Kenya Airways jetliner that crashed with 114 people on board in southern Cameroon.

The officials say the Boeing 737-800 jetliner, bound for Nairobi, went down near the town of Niete after taking off from Douala today (Saturday). There is no word yet on casualties.

Kenya airways chief executive Titus Naikuni tells VOA that authorities in Cameroon have initiated a search and rescue mission. The flight originated in Ivory Coast and had stopped at Cameroon's Douala airport en route to Nairobi.

The airline says the plane was carrying nine crew members and 105 passengers, including several Europeans, Asians and at least one U.S. citizen.

Naikuni says the control tower lost contact with the plane shortly after takeoff. He says Cameroon officials detected an automatic distress signal from the area where they believe the plane went down.

Helicopters have been dispatched to the remote, forested region where the weather is reported to be bad.(미국의 소리 2007.5.4)
