억류 영국 수병들, 5일 이란 떠날 것 (Eng)

이란의 마흐무드 아흐마디네자드 대통령은 4일 이란 군에 의해 억류된 15명의 영국 수병들을 사면해 석방할 것이라고 밝혔습니다.

이란의 마흐무드 아흐마디네자드 대통령은 4일 영국 수병들을 석방할 것이라고 밝혔다.

아흐마디네자드 대통령은 이날 테헤란에서 가진 기자회견에서 영국 국민에 대한 선물로 이 수병들을 사면할 것이라고 말했습니다. 이란 관계자들은 영국 수병들이 5일에 이란을 떠날 것이라고 밝혔습니다.

토니 블레어 영국 총리는 런던에서 기자들에게 영국이 이란 국민에게 나쁜 감정은 없다며, 이란 정부와의 불화가 대화를 통해 평화적으로 해결되기를 바란다고 말했습니다. 

블레어 총리는 영국 정부가 이 위기에 대해 협상도 아니지만,  이란과의 대결도 아닌 신중한 자세로 임했다고 밝혔습니다.

아흐마디네자드 대통령은 영국이 이란 수역에 들어오지 않겠다고 서면 약속했다고 말했습니다. 이란은 15명의 영국 수병을 이란 수역내에서 붙잡았다고 말했지만, 영국은 이를 부인하고 있습니다.

한편, 영국 수병들의 석방 발표 여파로 4일 국제유가가 하락했습니다.

이란군에 의한 영국 수병 15명의 억류를 둘러싼 영국과 이란간의 긴장이 고조되면서 국제유가는 7개월만에 최고수준까지 치솟았습니다.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says he will free the 15 British naval personnel detained by Iranian forces two weeks ago.

Mr. Ahmadinejad told a news conference in Tehran today (Wednesday) that he pardoned the detainees as a gift to the British people. Afterwards, he was shown on Iranian television speaking to the British sailors and marines as part of the release process.

Iranian officials say the Britons will leave Iran on Thursday.

British Prime Minister Tony Blair told reporters in London that Britain bears no ill will toward the Iranian people, and wishes to resolve disagreements with the Iranian government peacefully through dialogue. Mr. Blair said his government took a measured approach in the crisis - not negotiating, but not confronting Iran either.

Mr. Ahmadinejad said Britain promised in a letter not to enter Iranian waters in the future. Iran said the 15 Britons were captured in Iranian waters, a claim that Britain denied.

Meanwhile, world oil prices declined today (Wednesday) after Iran's president (Mahmoud Ahmadinejad) said he will release the 15 British sailors and marines who were seized two weeks ago.

Concerns that tensions between Britain and Iran might disrupt oil supplies had earlier pushed crude oil prices to their highest level in seven months.(미국의 소리 2007.4.4)
