Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi attended the opening ceremony of the Exposition of Global harmony(2005 World Exposition) held in Aichi Prefecture.
Prime Minister Koizumi said "The Exposition of Global Harmony also serves as an opportunity for people from around the World to gather and consider how humankind should interact with nature. Science and technology are the key factors to realize a balace between environmental protection and economic development. I hope that the Exposition of Global Harmony will mark the starting point for us to think about a way for humankind and nature to coexist into the future."


-EXPO Japan opens
The 2005 World Exposition, the first of its kind in the 21st century, opened to the public on Friday in Aichi prefecture, central Japan.
An estimated 8,800 people queued up in front of the two Expo venues before the opening. Some of them had waited in line overnight.
In Nagakute town, the gates opened earlier than scheduled the attractions as soon as they passed through the security checks.
A lay said " I am going to the pavilion" A man said, "I am heading for the Toyota attraction"
The first world exposition of the 21st century is based on the theme of "Nature's wisdom" with 121 countries and four international organization taking part.
One of the major attractions is the 18,000 year old head of a frozen mammoth unearthed from the permafrost in Si beria
The exhibition also feature state-of-the-art visual and information techologies designed to preserve nature and tackle environmental change
The Expo runs for Six months through September 25..

(해석-21세기 첫 국제박람회인 아이치 엑스포 2005가 일본을 비롯한 121개 국가와 4개 국제기구가 참가한 가운데 개막되었습니다 개막 첫날인 오늘 나가쿠테 전시장과 세토 전시장의 4개 출입구에는 찬 바람에도 불구하고 개장을 기다리는 8800여명의 긴 행렬이 생기기도 했으며 개중에는 전날 밤부터 줄을 선 사람도 있었습니다
2005년 3월 25일 오전 9시부터는 두 전시장에서 각기 개회식이 열렸는데 나가쿠테 전시장에서는 박람회 협회의 도요다 쇼이치로 회장이 "자연의 예지(自然의 叡知)"를 테마로 전 세계인의 교류의 장이 될 아이치 엑스포 2005의 개막을 선언했습니다
박람회협회는 오후 5시 현재 입장객 수를 4만여명으로 발표했는데 이는 당초 예상보다 적은 숫자로 때때로 눈발이 남리는 추운 날씨가 영향을 미쳤을 것이라고 밝혔습니다
아이치엑스포 2005에서는 9월 25일까지 반년의 개최기간 동안 최첨단 로봇과 영상기술이 공개되며 환경문제 해결을 위한 다양한 기술을 체험해 볼 수 있습니다)
