Jokowi-Kalla wins in N. Sumatra, Lampung, Yogyakarta

The General Elections Commission (KPU) has recorded victories for Joko “Jokowi” Widodo-Jusuf Kalla ticket in the provinces of North Sumatra, Lampung and Yogyakarta.

In Yogyakarta, Jokowi-Kalla secured 1,234,249 votes while the Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa ticket secured 977,342 votes.

Jokowi-Kalla was also recorded to have won in all four regencies and one mayoralty in the province, which is led by Governor Hamengkubuwono.

The ticket also shined in Lampung, collecting 2,299,899 votes to Prabowo-Hatta’s 2,033,924 votes.  

However, witnesses from the Prabowo-Hatta ticket have refused to sign off the election result announcement due to what they consider a lack of explanation over an additional fixed voter list that caused many potential voters to lose their voting rights.

In North Sumatra, Jokowi-Kalla secured 3,494,835 votes while Prabowo-Hatta secured 2,831,514.

As with Lampung, witnesses from the Prabowo-Hatta ticket also refused to sign off the election result announcement. (Oyos Saroso contributed to this story from Lampung/dic)
