러시아 '이란 부셰르 발전소 내년 후반까지 가동 안될 것' (E)

이란의 부셰르 원자력 발전소 건설을 맡고 있는 러시아 국영 원자력 회사 아톰스트로이엑스포르트는 이 발전소가 적어도 2008년 후반까지는 가동되지 않을 것이라고 밝혔습니다. 부셰르 발전소는 완공되면 이란 최초의 원자력 발전소가 됩니다.

아톰스트로이엑스포르트의 대표는 발전소 건설이 완료될 것이지만 내년 후반 까지는 가동되지 않을 것이라고 20일 말했습니다.

러시아는 핵연료 재처리 물질은 회수한다는 조건 하에 이번 주 부셰르 발전소에 핵연료 공급을 시작했습니다.

한편, 5개 유엔 안전보장이사회 상임이사국과 독일은 핵문제와 관련해 이란에 추가 제재를 가하는 방안을 논의하기 위해 준비 중에 있습니다.

The Russian state contractor building Iran's first nuclear power plant at Bushehr says the facilty will not be operational until at least late 2008.

Segei Shmatko, the head of the company (Atomstroiexport), said today (Thursday) that construction of the plant will be completed but it will not be "launched" before late next year.

Russia this week began delivering fuel to the plant it is building at Bushehr, under terms that all spent fuel will be returned to Russia.

Meanwhile, diplomats from the five permanent U.N. Security Council member countries and Germany are preparing to discuss further sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program.

The U.S. State Department announced that Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs Nicholas Burns will hold a conference call today (Thursday) with the other Security Council members with veto power (Britain, France, Russia and China) and Germany -- the so-called P-Five-plus-One.
