독일, 중국에 기후변화 대처와 지적재산권 보호 촉구

앙겔라 메르켈 독일 총리는 원자바오 중국 총리에게 기후 변화 대처와 지적재산권 보호를 위해  중국이 좀 더 노력할 것을 촉구했습니다.

메르켈 총리는 27일 베이징에서 원 총리를 만난 자리에서 이 같이 요구했습니다. 메르켈 총리의 이번 중국 방문은 두 번째입니다.

중국은 세계 최악의 지적 재산권 침해국으로 알려져 있습니다. 중국은 또 빠르게 지구 온난화의 주범인 온실가스의 최대 생산국이 되고 있습니다.

원 총리는 중국은 기후 변화에 대처하기를 원하지만, 중국은 아직 개발도상국으로 선진국들이 가진 자원이 부족하기 때문에 공해를 줄이기가 어렵다고 말했습니다.

메르켈 총리는 사흘간의 이번 중국 방문에서 중국의 인권 문제와 수단과의 관계 등 다른 민감한 사안들을 논의 할 것이라고 밝혔습니다. 

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has urged Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao to do more to fight climate change, and protect intellectual property rights.

Ms. Merkel met the Chinese premier today (Monday) in Beijing, during her second official visit to the country.

China is considered one of the world's worst violators of intellectual copyrights. It also is fast becoming the biggest producer of greenhouse gases, which contribute to global warming.

Mr. Wen said China wants to fight climate change, but that it is difficult to reduce pollution because China is still a developing country that lacks the resources of rich countries.

Ms. Merkel says she will use her three-day visit to China to tackle other sensitive issues, like the country's human rights record and Beijing's relationship with the Sudanese government.<미국의 소리 2007.8.27>
