병원 관계자들은 박 대표가 귀에서 턱 까지 길이 11센티미터의 자상을 입었다고 말했습니다. 의사들은 상처를 치료하기 위해 약 60바늘을 꿰맸습니다.

병원 관계자들은 박 대표가 위험한 상황에서 벗어났다면서, 그러나 얼굴의 상처를 완전히 치료하는데는 수 주일에서 수 개월이 걸릴 수도 있다고 말했습니다.

South Korea's opposition leader, Park Geun-hye, is recovering in a Seoul hospital after being slashed in the face by a man with box cutter while she was campaigning.

Hospital officials say Park suffered an 11-centimeter long cut to her face, from her ear to her jaw. Doctors (at Seoul's Yonsei University hospital) gave her around 60 stitches to treat the wound.

Officials say the leader of the Grand National Party is out of danger, but it could take weeks or months for her facial wounds to heal.

South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun condemned the attack on Park, saying terror and violence could never be accepted during an election process. He also called for prosecutors and police to conduct a thorough investigation of the incident.(미국의 소리)
