크로커 대사 ‘이라크 내분, 알카에다가 부추겨’ (E)

라이언 크로커 이라크 주재 미국대사와 데이비드 퍼트레이어스 이라크 주둔 미군사령관은 이라크 사마라 시의 아스카리야 사원 폭탄공격이 불화의 씨를 뿌리고 종파간 분쟁을 부추기려는 알 카에다의 소행이라고 말했습니다. 

크로커 대사와 퍼트레이어스 사령관은 13일 발표한 성명에서 이번 공격을 비난하고, 이것은 궁지에 몰린 적들의 단발마적인 행동이라고 말했습니다.

미국 백악관의 토니 스노우 대변인은 이라크 인들이 새로운 폭력을 촉발시키려는 공동의 적인 알카에다와 싸우는데 협력할 것을 촉구했습니다.

한편 마무드 아마디네자드 이란 대통령은 미국이 시아파의 신성한 아스카리야 사원 폭탄공격을 막지 못한데 대해 비난했습니다.

이란 관영매체들은 아마디네자드 대통령이 미국을 이라크 점령자라고 강조했다고 보도했습니다.

The top U.S. officials in Iraq say the attack on the Askariya shrine in Samarra was an attempt by al-Qaida to "sow dissent and inflame sectarian strife."

In a statement, Ambassador Ryan Crocker and General David Petraeus condemned the attack and called it an "act of desperation by an increasingly beleaguered enemy."

In Washington, White House spokesman Tony Snow urged Iraqis to work together to fight what he called the common enemy of al-Qaida and others who are trying to ignite new violence.

Meanwhile, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad blamed the United States for failing to prevent the attack on the revered Shi'ite site.

Iranian state media said the leader of the mainly Shi'ite nation addressed the United States as the occupiers of Iraq.

The United States has accused Iran of supporting Shi'ite militants in Iraq.(미국의 소리 2007.6.13)
