8월 9일 오늘 나가사키 원폭의 날 64주년 맞이해

 

 일본의 나가사키는 오늘 원폭이 투하된 지 64주년이 되는 원폭의 날을 맞이했습니다. 폭심지에 가까운 평화공원에는 피폭자와 시민 약 5800명이 참석한 가운데 평화기념식이 열렸습니다.

기념식에서 나가사키시의 다우에 도미히사 시장은 평화선언을 낭독하고 오바마 미국 대통령이 지난 4월 '핵무기가 없는 세계'실현을 천명한 것을 역사적인 순간이었다고 평가하고 '전세계의 모든 이들이 지금이야말로 각자의 생활 속에서 오바마 대통령에게 지지를 표명하고 '핵무기가 없는 세계'로 향한 길을 함께 나아가자고 호소했습니다.

또 피폭자를 대표해 부모형제 모두 8명을 원폭으로 잃은 72살의 오쿠야마 아야코 씨가 '오바마 대통령의 연설은 피폭자의 주장이 마침내 전세계에 전해진 것으로 마음이 든든하며 이 지구 상에서 핵무기를 없애 안심하고 살아 갈 수 있도록 한사람이라도 더 많은 사람에게 평화와 생명의 존엄을 전해 갈 것을 맹세한다'고 말했습니다.

한편 폭심지와 평화공원에는 새벽부터 피폭자와 시민들이 찾아와 희생자를 추모하고 평화를 기원했습니다.

이른 새벽에 폭심지 공원을 찾은 나가사키시의 피폭자인 77살의 요시다 가쓰지 씨는 '앞으로 얼마를 더 살지 모르겠지만 오바마 미국 대통령이 반드시 한번은 히로시마 나가사키를 방문해 주기를 바란다'고 말했습니다.

또 13살 때 피폭한 이마이즈미 유키 씨는 학도병 동원으로 군수공장에 일하던 16살된 누나를 원폭으로 잃었다고 말했습니다. 그리고 자신도 두차례나 암에 걸렸는데 매년 누나의 묘를 찾기 위해 평화공원에 오고 있다며 원폭이 무섭다는 것은 체험한 자만이 알 수 있는 것이라면서 절대로 원폭을 사용해서는 안 된다고 말했습니다.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

나가사키에서 유엔총회 의장, 핵무기 폐기에 일본역할 기대

'나가사키 원폭의 날' 평화기념식에 참열하기 위해 나가사키시를 방문한 유엔총회의 데스코토 의장이 어제 원폭자료관을 방문해 '원폭을 경험한 나라로 일본은 핵무기를 없애는 일에 중심적인 역할을 해야 한다'고 강조했습니다.

원폭자료관에서 데스코토 의장은 또 폭풍으로 파괴된 우라카미 천주당에 남아있는 로지리오 등의 유품과 원폭으로 케로이드가 남아 있는 피폭자의 사진을 보면서 설명을 들었습니다.

이 뒤 기자회견에서 데스코토 의장은 자료관에서 아무 죄도 없는 사람들이 고통을 받은 사진을 보고 마음이 아팠다고 말했습니다. 이어 세계는 이기주의와 오만함에 차있어 인류가 살아남기 위해서 핵무기를 없애야 한다고 지적하고 어려운 일이지만 일본은 원폭을 경험한 나라로 핵무기를 없애는데 중심적인 역할을 해야 한다며 일본의 역할에 기대감을 나타냈습니다

국제원자력기구, 핵무기 사용금지 각국에 호소

국제원자력기구는 7일 윈 국제센터에서 일본 히로시마와 나가사키 원자탄폭발 64주년을 기념하기 위한 행사를 개최하고 세계각국이 핵무기 사용을 전면 금지할 것을 호소하였습니다.

국제원자력기구의 핵실험전면금지조약기구준비위원회 안니마 툰보르그 대변인은 이날 히로시마와 나가사키가 원자탄 습격을 받은 사건을 교훈으로 삼고 이런 재난이 더는 재연되지 않도록 확보하며 세계 평화 수호를 매개인의 의무와 책임으로 삼아야 한다고 했습니다.

안니마 툰보르그는 <핵실험전면금지조약>의 실시는 핵무기 사용을 전면 금지하는 행정에서의 첫 걸음으로 된다고 하면서 이 조약과 기타 일부 중요한 조약, 협의를 합쳐 안정한 틀을 공동으로 수립하며 핵무기를 과거에만 머물게 해야 한다고 했습니다.
