국제유가가 배럴당 1백43달러를 넘겨 또다시 사상 최고치를 기록했습니다. 오늘 원유 선물가격은 런던 시장에서 배럴당 143달러 91센트까지 치솟았으며, 뉴욕 시장에서도 배럴당 143달러 67센트까지 뛰었습니다.

국제유가 상승은 이란의 핵개발 계획을 둘러싼 긴장과 나이지리아 석유생산 지역의 불안, 미국 달러화 가치의 하락에 따른 것입니다.

이란은 석유수출국기구 회원국들 가운데 석유생산 규모 2위국이며, 나이지리아는 아프리카 최대 석유 수출국입니다.

World crude oil prices surged to fresh record highs above 143 dollars a barrel today (Monday) as tensions rose over Iran's nuclear program, Nigeria experienced continued unrest in its oil producing area, and the value of the dollar dropped.

Iran is the second-largest producer in the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, Nigeria is Africa's largest oil exporter, and oil is priced in dollars.

The price of crude oil for future delivery went as high as 143 dollars, 91 cents a barrel in London trading. The price also hit a record high (of 143 dollars, 67 cents) in New York.

OPEC members blame high prices on speculation, while major oil consumers say there is too little oil on the market.
