오는 17일 투표가 치러지는 인도네시아 대통령 선거는 재선을 노리는 현직 조코 대통령이 우위를 유지하고 있는 가운데, 야당 당수인 프라보워 씨가 추격하고 있습니다.

5년에 1번 실시되는 인도네시아 대선은 재선을 노리는 현직 조코 대통령에 대해 야당 당수로 군의 전 최고 간부인 프라보워 씨가 도전하고 있는데, 경제 발전과 빈곤 대책 등을 쟁점으로 격렬한 선거전이 펼쳐졌습니다.

선거전 마지막 날인 13일에는 수도 자카르타에서 텔레비전 토론회가 열려, 조코 대통령은 인프라 정비 등의 실적을 강조하고 "앞으로도 국가적 과제에 적극 도전하겠다"며 지지를 호소했습니다.

이에 대해 프라보워 씨는 "조코 정권은 수입을 늘려 자국 산업을 쇠퇴시키고 있다"며 "잘못된 정책을 바로 잡겠다"고 주장해 정권 교체의 필요성을 강조했습니다.

최신 여론조사에 따르면 조코 대통령은 지지율이 50여 퍼센트로 우위를 유지하고 있는데 일부 조사에서는 프라보워 씨와 경합세를 보이고 있습니다.

투표는 3일 후인 17일에 실시되는데, 오는 5월 22일 결과가 판명될 예정으로, 1억 9천여만 명의 유권자의 선택의 향방이 주목됩니다
